Our competition winning bid for the 600-home first phase of Rochester Riverside, a flagship development on the Thames Gateway.  Working closely with HTA, Crest Nicholson and Bioregional Quintain, we developed the urban strategy and architectural narrative for the site, which includes housing, sheltered accommodation, shops, offices and a hotel.   Working using large scale models our design took cues from the scale and former use of the industrial site.  The proposals have strong roof forms, carefully composed, robust facades, and combine simple detailing with durable locally sourced materials.  The scheme was developed as a 'One Planet' living community and an exemplar of sustainable urban design.
